For the twelfth time already, Latvian motocross venue “Zelta Zirgs” will host a World Motocross Championship event. The MXGP Motocross World Championship is the most prestigious series in the world that gathers the strongest dirt bike racers from all continents. The elite of motocross will be arriving in Kegums on August 7 and 8 to fight for the Latvian “Grand Prix”.
The beloved track will host world-class racing stars, as motocross legend Antonio Cairoli, Dutch prodigy Jeffrey Herlings, 3-time World Champion Tim Gajser and many others. Latvian hope Pauls Jonas has successfully returned to the MXGP after the injury he sustained in 2020 and currently is a serious contender for the TOP 5 in each race, while Lithuanian star Arminas Jasikonis has proved himself to be a real fighter in the past stages despite the injuries sustained last year. This is a unique opportunity for every motocross enthusiast to experience the world's motocross heavyweights fight on a real sand track.
Despite the MXGP racers taking the central stage on Sunday, the competitors of the European championship EMXOPEN and EMX250 classes will also be fighting for their championship points on Saturday. These men will do everything in their power to fight for the title, and Kegums will be no exception when it comes to world-class duels between the best motocross racers in the world.
